Subramanya Siva was born on Sep-19,1884 in Vathalagundu, Madhurai. Subramanya Siva was a firebrand revolutionary independance fighter from Tamilnadu, He closely worked with V.O Chidamparam Pillai and Subramanya Bharathi and inspired many young men to join the freedom movement. Siva was first political prisoner in the madras presidency. Siva had described his Jail experiance in a small book "Jail Life". He published "Gnana Bhanu" a collection of poems. He was an admirer of swami Vivekanandha and his religious master Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa. Siva disagreed many things with Gandhian Philosophy. He belived in violence for violent methods would arise when constructional methods had failed. Subramanya Siva died on Jul-23,1925.

Subramanya Siva monument built in memory of the great patriot Subramanya Siva in his samadhi near Papparapatti, Pennagaram Taluk.
