 Nela Kondapalli is the headquarters of a mandal in Khammam district in Andhra Pradesh of India. It has Buddhist stupas and many more tourist spots. It is the birth place of Sri Ramadasu who built the temple of Lord Rama in Bhadrachalam in Khammam district.
Nelakondapalli is a Buddhist site in Khammam District and is located about 180 km east of Hyderabad. It remains as an example of Ikshvakus and Vishnukundin periods. Excavations on this site showcases the huge standing Buddha images, Vishnukundin coins, viharas, Maha Chaityas (stupa), votive stupas, terracotta figurines, early historic pottery and bronze image of Buddha. Nelakondapalli is believed to be a link between coastal and Telangana areas of Andhra Pradesh for traders and Buddhist monks. Archaeological evidences specify that this site is dated between 3rd and 5th century. Some ancient temples are also seen here.
