Navalgund is the Town in Dharwad District of Karnataka state, India. It is situated 35 km from Hubli and is famous as birth place of 'jamkhanas', the floor covering woven using cotton ropes or carpet. Many of the uruses are very large gatherings, attended by Hindus also as at the Raja Bagh Sawar urns at Yamanur near Navalgund.
