Mulpe beach is located 6 kms from Udupi, an ideal picnic spot with its virgin beach. situated on the mouth of the River Udyavara. It was once an important port on the coast of Karnataka, and has a never ending stretch of golden, untouched beach, dotted by swaying palms, and with three rocky islands flanking its western part. The sea has carved a place between the rocky islands and the shores as a safe anchorage for ships and vessels during rough and stormy weather conditions.
