A total of 432 barrels keep it floating on water.Nearly 800-1,000 persons can sit in the float. According to S. Ilango, Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charities Endowment Board, and T. Gajendran, executive officer of the temple, the float is 50 feet x 50 feet in size with a height of 30 feet. The float is like a temple with a `vimana' at the centre with nandhis on four sides. There are 16 pillars and the `vimana' has the images of Somaskandar, Thyagaraja, Ganesha, Saraswathi and Lakshmi. Lord Kalyanasundarar will adorn the float.
